We Have A Great Local Beach Catamaran Regatta!!!

Right here in Ocean View Beach, Norfolk.

The beach cats event of the 2009 St. Jude children’s research hospital Hampton Roads Regatta August 1, 2009

Come join us for some fun!

We can launch by the east beach club house (4550 East Beach Dr., Norfolk, VA) Friday evening or at the beach access by ships cabin restaurant (4110 East Ocean View Ave., Norfolk, VA) on Saturday morning. This location guarantees 100% sailing fun.

This year the Regatta includes the Little Creek Cup, the Flounder Fishing Tournament, a Kayak Rally (new event), and the Beach Catamaran Race! That's Us!

There is a Friday evening Captain’s Social at the Bay Point Marina and a great Saturday Post-Regatta celebration at the Bay Point Marina.

All for a great cause! The St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Registration

$50.00 includes 1 wristband and 1 meal ticket for the Saturday night post-race party and 1 novelty item.

Launch

Beach Cat launch on Friday 5:00-7:30 PM, July 31 at the East Beach Bay Front Club (4550 East Beach Dr., Norfolk, VA) or Saturday 7:00-9:00 AM at the beach access by Ships Cabin Restaurant (4110 Ocean View Ave., Norfolk, VA).

Skippers' Meeting

At 7:00 PM on Friday, July 31st at Bay Point Marina (9500 30th Bay St., Norfolk, VA); Captains’ Social following. Beach Cats skippers’ meeting at launch site Saturday, August 1, 8:30 AM.

Classes

Beach Catamarans will be started as an open class and scored using the Portsmouth Yardstick Handicap Rules.

First Flag = 9:30 AM on Saturday, August 1, 2009

Rules

Races will be governed by the USSA Racing Rules of Sailing 2005-2008, the Sailing Instructions, and this Notice of Race.
